Sift the Matcha: Use a fine mesh sieve to sift 1/2 teaspoon of matcha powder into your matcha bowl (chawan) to prevent clumping.

Add Hot or Cold Water: Heat water to approximately 175°F (80°C), or use cold water. Add about 2 ounces of water to the matcha.

Whisk with Care: Use a bamboo whisk (chasen) to whisk the matcha in a zigzag motion (M or W shape) until a creamy froth forms on the surface.
